Application time: you can apply for your resident visa two weeks or one month before your visitor visa expires.
The following materials need to be prepared:
1. Application form(Go to website: https://visawebapp.boca.gov.twFill out the application form)
2. Two color passport-size photos
3. Passport and one photocopy of the passport
4. Original and one photocopy of the health certificate
5. Original and one photocopy of the certificate of enrollment with a record of registration
6. The original and photocopy of the registration certificate
(continue to register for more than 3 months)
7. Original and one photocopy of the record of attendance
(Monday to Friday, at least 15 hours of class per week. Absence of class including leave of absence shall not exceed 1/4 of the total class hours.)
8. Original and one photocopy of transcripts
9. The original study plan
10. Original and one photocopy of proof of financial support
11.Other supporting documents
Notice：
1. After obtaining the residence visa, you need to apply for a residence permit (ARC) at the Immigration Department within 15 days.
2. For more information, please refer to the website of the Bureau of Consular Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
3. Applicants who have entered the R.O.C. (Taiwan) on a Visitor Visa with an annotation indicating studying Chinese as the purpose of visit, have completed 4 months of study, have registered for continued study for at least another 3 months, and have not been absent from class for over a quarter of total class hours, may apply to the Bureau of Consular Affairs or any of its Central, Southwestern, Southern, or Eastern Taiwan Offices for a Resident Visa, without having to leave Taiwan, no later than 8 work days before the duration of stay expires.
